BLOOMINGTON – New bicycle way-finding signs will soon be popping up in Bloomington.
The city is working with the Friends of the Constitution Trail to put up the signs throughout the community to serve as connection points at the end of the Constitution trail at Indianapolis and Croxton, and at Lincoln and Clayton.
“To just allow people to be able to get from one end of the Constitution Trail and find the other location on it,” said Public Works Director Jim Karch. “This is the kind of partnership we really like to see with local groups. It’s a wonderful help to the city.”
The 35 signs are being provided by Friends of the Constitution Trail at no cost to the city. Karch explained while this is not saving the city a whole lot of money, the project is not so much about saving funds.
“While that’s wonderful and nice, I think it’s even more important to see the importance of this community being put towards bicycle improvements,” he said.
The signs will most likely be put in place by city staff this fall.
