Ruth S. Lowery, 95, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Sep. 30 at her residence.

Her funeral service will be  10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Apostolic Christian Church at  4408 E. Raab Road and Towanda Barnes Road, Normal.

Ministers of the Church will be officiating. Burial will be Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington and from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Apostolic Christian Church or March of Dimes. Ruth was born April 14, 1920 in Gridley the daughter of Joseph and Ida Wenger Rinkenberger. She married Paul Lowery on Feb. 1, 1941 in St. Charles, Mo. He passed away April 1, 2010.

Surviving are three daughters, Janet (Elvin) Nuest, Francesville, Karol (Andy) Bowser, Bloomington, Beverly (Silas) Berry, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Verna Harsh,Ocala, Fla., Eleanor King, Pewaukee, Wis; two brothers, Ray (Cleda) Rinkenberger,  Mackinaw, David (Gloria) Rinkenberger, Ill.; 22 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two children Jack Lowery, Marilyn DuBois, one granddaughter, Ruth Ann Nuest Lehman, two great grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers.

Ruth had worked at Beich Candy Company for 27 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and had made many afghans and gave them away.  She will be missed by all who knew her.
