Carol Ann Parent, 74 of Gridley, died at 10:11 p.m., Oct. 20 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service at 11 a.m., Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa; with Pastor Jarrod Bartholomew officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home in Chenoa on Saturday.

Carol was born May 3, 1941 in Vancouver, Canada; the daughter of Alfred J. and Lorraine (McLellan) Corth. Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Stanley (Diana) Piotrowski of Fruitport, Miss.; Victoria Ann Weaver of Flanagan; Beth (Tom) Ellis of Chenoa; Keith (Kelly) Piotrowski of Muskegon, Miss.; ten grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family of Carol Ann Parent.

William Deavers

William G. “Bill” Deavers, Jr. 63, of Bloomington passed away on Oct. 10 at 1:15 p.m. at his residence in Bloomington.

Per Bill’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Bill’s family. Kibler- Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

William G. Deavers, Jr. was born on Nov. 8, 1951 in Idalou, Texas a son of William G. and Edna L. Deavers, Sr. He married Joan Harpster on July 4, 1975 in Heyworth. She preceded him in death on Sep. 10, 2015 in Texas.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Daniel Deavers of Killeen, Texas; a daughter, Larissa Deavers of Kentucky; two grandchildren, Joseph and Mason Oliver; three brothers, Jerry (Karen) Deavers of Indiana, Henry (Patti) Deavers of Heyworth, and Billy (Amy) Deavers of Danville. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Macy Oliver, and one brother, Abe Deavers.
Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army for over 17 years. He served during the Vietnam Conflict and worked as a mechanic during his time in the service. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 454 in Bloomington.
He loved NASCAR and stock car races. Bill raced and drove his own stock-car. He also enjoyed whittling wood carvings.
