Alvin Wendell Walls, 53, of Bloomington, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Oct. 26 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Bloomington with Rev. Frank L. McSwain, Sr. Officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. also at the church.
Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the family. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington has been entrusted to handle the arrangements for Alvin’s service.
Alvin was born on Jan. 30, 1962 in Bloomington, a son to Albert and Lucy (Goodrich) Walls.
Surviving are his mother, Lucy Walls of Bloomington; children, Andranica Walls Brown, Dominice Brown, Russell Lyons, Alyssa Lorch, Paris Walls, Ashlyn Lorch, Ariana Walls, all of Bloomington and Devyne Walls of Peoria; fiancé`, Karen Lorch of Bloomington; three sisters, Marilyn Harris of Mississippi, Tammie Smith of Bloomington, and Gidget Johnson of Bloomington; a brother, Christopher Walls of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Dion Lewis.
Alvin loved spending time with his family, singing and listening to music. He enjoyed playing cards and telling jokes.
