Joseph “Joby” Singer, 78 of Cropsey, passed away at 6:00 p.m. Nov. 3 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Pontiac.
Visitation will be 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Cremation will take place at the conclusion of visitation. A private family internment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be directed to American Cancer Society.
“Joby” was born Aug.17, 1937 in Clinton; the son of Joseph Allen and Rebecca (Moore) Singer. He married Margie Marie Underwood on Dec. 4, 1954 in Clinton. She passed away Sep. 15, 2014.
Survivors include his children, Lester (Lizzie) Singer of Whitehouse, Tenn.; Janice (Gary) Eble of Tiskilwa, Ill.; Ed (Chrissy) Singer of Pontiac; John (Jessi Earhart) Singer of Whitehouse, Tenn.; Kelli Reynolds of Bloomington; Jennifer Wyant of Pontiac; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
“Joby” loved music; traditional country and bluegrass were his favorite. He was instrumental in passing on his love of music to numerous people; creating a living legacy.
