Bloomington-Normal gas prices among cheapest in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD – In a world where everything is relative, paying less than $2.50 for a gallon of gasoline is not bad.

October’s AAA Fuel Gauge Report shows an Illinois average of $2.47.

“This is the time of year when prices fall,” said AAA Chicago spokeswoman Beth Mosher. “We’ve seen them tick up a little bit across the Midwest due to some refinery issues, but prices are still looking good for this time of the year.”

And a few days into November, the average has slipped to $2.34. That is in a range from $2.05 in Danville to $2.31 in East St. Louis. The Chicago city average is $2.73 now. The Chicago metro average is $2.48.

Prices in Bloomington-Normal are as low as $2.10 per gallon.
