BLOOMIGNTON – Bloomington’s Miller Park Zoo now has an ultrasound machine, thanks to Fort Jesse Imaging Center.
Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Director Jay Tetzloff said the zoo received the machine as a donation from the center this past week.
“It’s a great opportunity for us, and we thank Fort Jesse Imaging Center a lot for this,” said Tetzloff. “It’s something we do not have and I think we were missing something with taking care of our animals.”
Tetzloff said he has wanted an ultrasound machine at the zoo for a long time.
“This takes us to the next level in terms of what we can do for our animals,” he said.
Tetzloff said buying this type of machine can cost up to $100,000.
