BLOOMINGTON – As Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump holds his rally in Springfield Monday night, a group from Bloomington-Normal will be there.
Dump Trump Illinois doesn’t like what Trump has said about immigrants.
“Just want to let him know that he needs to change his rhetoric. His words are dangerous for the Latino community,” said Bloomington organizer Sonny Garcia. “We just want to spread the word that what he’s doing is very dangerous.”
Garcia added Trump needs to stop “spewing his hate speech.”
“We need to be inclusive in this country. We’re trying to spread a message of love and not hate,” said Garcia. “That’s our main purpose; we’re all in this together. We’re a nation of immigrants.”
Garcia said if he could speak to Trump personally, he’d ask him how he can say such hurtful things about immigrants and expect no backlash from the community.
