BLOOMINGTON – Friday marks the kickoff of the WJBC Brotherhood Tree gift collection to help families in need in McLean County this Christmas.

WJBC is asking all of its listeners to pick up at least one extra gift when you do your Christmas shopping. Gifts can be dropped off at about a dozen locations, including the WJBC studios, DoubleTree by Hilton, any Bloomington, Normal or Lexington Commerce Bank location, Denny’s Doughnuts, Great Harvest Bread Company, Children’s Discovery Museum, Heritage Plaza, Eastland Mall inside Wild Country, Chenoa Pharmacy, Hyvee, Rosati’s in Bloomington, and Moe’s.

Donors can also make a cash donation via PayPal.

Volunteers will also be needed to wrap and distribute gifts the week of Dec. 14. Gifts will be distributed on Dec. 19. Last year, Brotherhood Tree “elves” delivered gifts to more than 1,700 families.
