Adam Studzinski kicks off sports coverage today at 11 a.m. with a live Game Day Show from Illinois State’s Hancock Stadium on WJBC 1230 AM and 93.7 FM.
That will be followed by Illinois State’s second-round FCS playoff game against Missouri Valley Conference foe Western Illinois. Pregame coverage is at noon with the kickoff at 1 p.m.
ISU, the No. 2 seed in the 24-team playoff field, bring a 9-2 record into the game and will be looking to extend its home winning streak to a FCS best 19 games.
The Redbirds defeated Western Illinois, 48-24, earlier in the year. The Leathernecks have a 7-5 record after last week’s 24-7 victory at Dayton in a first-round game.
Also on WJBC 1230 AM and 93.7 FM, Illinois State’s men’s basketball team returns to action at Redbird Arena with a nonconference game against
Alabama-Birmingham. ISU has a 3-5 record while UAB is 4-3. The pregame show starts at 6 p.m. with the tip-off at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile on your computer or smartphone at wjbc.com, Illinois Wesleyan’s men’s basketball team battles No. 14 Washington (5-0) at 7 p.m. The Titans have a 3-2 record.
Also, the ISU women’s basketball team travels to Chicago to meet No. 23 DePaul at 7 p.m. on wjbc.com. The Redbirds are 1-5.
