WJBC’s Duling selected for IBCA Hall of Fame

BLOOMINGTON – Veteran WJBC sportscaster Larry Duling has been selected for induction into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Duling has been broadcasting high school sports for 37 years. He started working part-time while in high school calling games on WGFA in his hometown of Watseka. He called games on WLBH in Mattoon and WHOW in Clinton before coming to WJBC in 2008 and covered games for Lake Land College and Eastern Illinois University.

His resume includes play-by-play of football, basketball, baseball, softball, track and wrestling.

He recently called Central Catholic state championship in boys basketball in 2014 in a three-overtime win and Normal Community’s Supersectional win over Chicago Simeon at Redbird Arena in March.

Duling will be inducted at a ceremony on April 30, 2016 at Illinois State University’s Bone Student Center.

He joins a long list of WJBC staff and alumni to earn the induction into the IBCA Hall of Fame; including Dick Luedke, Greg Halbleib, Gary Walter, Tim Scott, Bryan Bloodworth and the late Art Kimball.
