WJBC, in partnership with Frontier Communications and Roberts Trophies, is proud to present the WJBC Athletes of the Week.

Winners for the week of Jan. 4, 2016:

Kiana Coomber – Prairie Central Girls Basketball

Kiana scored seven unanswered points in the final 45 seconds, including the game-winning layup at the buzzer to lead the Hawks to a 44-43 win over Peoria Christian. She averaged 21 points per games as the Hawks took seventh-place in the State Farm Holiday Classic small school girls bracket.

John Rave – Central Catholic Boys Basketball

John led the Saints with an 17.5 points-per-game average as the Saints took second place in the State Farm Holiday Classic small school boys bracket.
