BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Wesleyan men’s basketball team has secured a spot in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament after defeating Elmhurst easily on Senior Night 77-67.

The Titans (13-12, 7-7 CCIW) jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the first half before cruising to a 15-point lead at the half. Illinois Wesleyan’s largest lead was 22 at multiple points in the second half over the Bluejays (20-5, 10-4 CCIW).

Senior Bryce Dolan had 15 points on five three-pointers. 11 of his 12 field goal attempts came from behind the arc. Juniors Andy Stemple and Trevor Seibring each had 12 points.

Senior Mike Marietti scored a basket in his final college game despite a knee injury that otherwise had ended his college career.

The Titans shot 46 percent from the field and 69 percent from the free throw stripe.

It was a meaningless game for the Titans in regards to their standing in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. North Central defeated North Park Saturday 84-74. North Park’s loss helped the Titans secure the final spot in the CCIW tournament, which starts Friday.

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
