Ralph Glen Beaman, Jr., 85, of Bloomington, entered into rest at 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 27 at Heritage Health in Bloomington.
His memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., March 12 at First Christian Church, Bloomington with Rev. James Warren officiating. A private family entombment will be in Park Hill Mausoleum, Bloomington at a later date. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, First Christian Church, Bloomington or the American Stroke Association.

Glen was born May 17, 1930 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Ralph Glen and Dorothy Ione Beaman. He married Shirley Lucile Gelsinger on March 22, 1953 in Illiopolis. She died on Aug. 10, 2012.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Sue Beaman of Normal and Linda Carol (Jerry) Singley of Stanford; five grandchildren, Jaclyn (Jeremy) Haning, Randi (Luke) Krehbiel, Jacob (Jen) Singley, Katy Bateman and Amy Bateman; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Glen worked for State Farm Insurance for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was active in the Bloomington-Normal community since moving here in 1961 from Decatur, Illinois. Glen attained some professional insurance credentials and was an insurance instructor for several years.
An avid tournament bridge player, he was a Life Master. Glen enjoyed the theater and appeared in a few productions of the local Community Players and also helped the Conklin Theater Group.
He was past president of the Normal Lions Club and the Golden K. Kiwanis Club of Bloomington.
He was a deacon at the First Christian Church of Bloomington and a longtime worker in the Bloomington-Normal Cursillo Movement. He also worked in the American Passion Play for 15 years. Glen was extremely proud of his family and often said he could not love them more than he did.

Mary L. Sutter, 86, of Bloomington, passed away at 12:18 am, Feb. 29 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Patrick Church of Merna, Bloomington with Rev. Gregory Ketcham officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Merna. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday at the church.

Mary was born Dec. 5, 1929 in Kenney, the daughter of Eugene and Goldie Williamson Pfeifer. She married Joseph L. Sutter on Aug. 19, 1950 in Clinton. He survives.
She is also survived by three children, Susan E. (Lance) Durden of Statesboro, GA, Mary Elizabeth (Mike) Haws of Arnold, Mo. and John (Melodie)Sutter of Cooksville; three grandchildren, Marcie (John) Brennan, Sean Haws and Laura Sutter; and two great-grandchildren, Lilleth and Gordon Brennan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Pherigo and two infant brothers, Eugene Jr. and Fredrick.
Mary received a librarian degree from ISNU and was the head librarian at the Colfax Library for many years. She was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm for many years. She was a member of the Diamond Social Club, Mother’s Club, and a member of Home Extension. She enjoyed cross stitch, latch hook, sewing, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed visiting with her many friends and neighbors.
Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Merna and was on the building committee when the church was rebuilt in Bloomington. She was very active in the church including the Altar & Rosary Society and taught catechism at St. Patrick’s and St. Joseph’s of Colfax. Mary was known throughout the church for her famous Texas cake.
