BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis looks to have retained her position.
Davis took on a challenge from Gary Morfield and Ryan Gibson in the Republican primary, with no one running on the Democratic side.
Davis said she wants to continue her work in suicide prevention.
“Getting 211 out there so we can try to save lives as a community,” said Davis. “Also disseminating the information about the medical issues – why our residents of our county die – and maybe we can give prevention.”
Davis said she wants to be the coroner because she wants to be there for families when they’re going through maybe the worst time of their lives.
“I just want to work for the community and I want to save lives,” she said,
Davis will remain the county coroner unless a candidate emerges on the Democrat side before November.
