Several McLean County races on the ballot for primary election

BLOOMINGTON – Tuesday is primary election day in Illinois – one of five battleground states in the presidential race.

There are also a number of local races to be decided. There are two contested Republican primary races for McLean County Board and a three-way race for coroner. U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville) faces a challenge from political newcomer Ethan Vandersand from Carrolton. There are two primary battles for Illinois’ contested U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican Mark Kirk.

The polls remain open until 7 p.m. WJBC and WJBC.com will have live election results after the polls close.
