NORMAL – The Normal CornBelters and Welcome Home Haiti have partnered for the promotion of a concert with Christian rock band MercyMe and Christian artist Jeremy Camp on July 23.
“On behalf of Welcome Home Haiti, I would like to extend a warm thank you to Steve Malliet and The Normal CornBelters Baseball Team for partnering with our ministry for this concert,” said Steve Hari, co-founder of the ministry. “MercyMe and Jeremy Camp’s music is enjoyed by our supporters and our Haitian brothers and sisters. We look forward to sharing with concertgoers how God is moving in this part of the world and how they can become a part of this work.”
Welcome Home Haiti is a faith-based organization which has built 55 homes for families in Northern Haiti since it was founded in 2011. Another 15 homes are planned for completion in 2016. In October, a block building business will start that will employ an additional 15-20 people on top of the 20-25 Haitians already employed by the organization.
“It is an honor to work with an organization that represents such a great cause.” said CornBelters President and General Manager Steve Malliet. “As a member of an industry who employs many athletes from this part of the world, I’ve heard countless stories about the quality of life these people endure. We are excited for this opportunity and hope we can help raise awareness for Welcome Home Haiti.”
The CornBelters open the 2016 season at home on May 13 vs. the Joliet Slammers.
