The Illinois State Redbirds just got bigger with the edition of 6-8 forward Phil Fayne II out of Western Nebraska Community College.
Fayne II announced Friday night via his twitter he will finish his college career at ISU after just one season at WNCC. In his one season Fayne II 11.6 points per game and shooting 62-percent from the field, while collecting 6.7 rebounds.
The Elk Grove, California native started 20 games, and played in 30 for WNCC, who finished the season with a 18-14. Fayne II also garnered interest from the University of Nevada before committing to ISU.
Fayne II, who will have three years of immediate eligibility remaining, is the first scholarship player added for Dan Muller’s Redbirds since the Spring signing period began April 13. Ottawa’s Issac Gassman recently committed to a Preferred Walk-On role with the Redbirds.
