LeRoy’s Chastain to attend Loyola

LeROY – LeRoy All-State basketball standout Matt Chastain has announced he will attend Loyola.

Chastain posted a note on Twitter on Saturday: “Very excited to say that I will continue my education and basketball career at Loyola University of Chicago!!!”

Illinois State was reportedly one of nearly a dozen Division I schools that had expressed interest in the 6-foot-6 senior who led the Panthers to the Class 1A state title last month.

Chastain is LeRoy’s career leader in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. He averaged 25.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 2.4 steals during his season season.
