NORMAL – It doesn’t matter to Illinois State running back Marshaun Coprich when his name is called and who calls it, just as long as it’s called during the NFL’s draft that gets underway Thursday in Chicago.

“I’m not nervous,” said Coprich, who will be in the Windy City for the three-day event. “(Hopefully) my name gets called. I’ll be happy with whatever team I end up on and I’m ready to get to work.”

Coprich said he doesn’t know who will pick him or what round he will go in, but projections are that he will go between the third and sixth round.

“I’ve talked to so many different teams,” added Coprich. “Depending on what round or what happens I’m just waiting. Teams could be interested in you and you never know it.

“It’s just like playing cards. You just continue to talk to a lot of teams, but you just have to wait to see who’s going to pick you first or who’s going to pull your name.”

Coprich said he felt good about his performance at the NFL combine in Indianapolis last month.

“My 40 (yard dash time) and my skill drills were real good,” Coprich continued. “That’s what I do is just play football.”

ISU coach Brock Spack said he’s had a number of inquiries about Coprich from NFL teams.

“I know a lot of people like him,” added Spack. “With running backs I don’t know who needs back. I know 11 or 12 people have called him for his phone number on draft day.”
