High speed rail updated closures

NORMAL – Normal has received a revised schedule of road closures related to the Illinois High Speed Rail project.

The closures are required to complete the work on the railroad tracks and to replace the roadway crossings. University Street, Fell Avenue, Broadway Avenue, Linden Street, College Avenue, Mulberry Street, Beech Street and Fort Jesse Road will be affected by the closures. Two separate closures can be expected at each street crossing to complete the work. A detour route will be marked for each closure.

Below is a list of the closure schedule:

Completed Fort Jesse Road
May 23 – June 25 University Street
June 17 – June 23 Fort Jesse Road, Beech Street
June 24 – July 3 College Avenue, Mulberry Street
July 4 – 10 Linden Street
July 11 – 15 Broadway Avenue
July 16 – 20 Fell Avenue
Aug. 1 – Sept. 3 Broadway Avenue, Linden Street, Fort Jesse Road
Sept. 3 – 17 Linden Street
Sept. 19 – Oct. 15 College Avenue, Mulberry Street
Oct. 17 – Nov. 19 Beech Street, Fell Avenue
