CornBelters’ Meadows named Frontier League Player of Week

NORMAL – The Normal CornBelters have received their third Frontier League Player of the Week honor of the season as right fielder Nolan Meadows has earned the latest award.

Meadows hit .417 during the week’s six games with three home runs and eight runs batted in. The 23-year-old rookie from San Pedro, California moved into a pair of the league’s leaderboards during the week, climbing into second in the league in home runs with eight and fifth with 69 total bases.

Meadows is the third CornBelter to receive the league’s weekly player honor in 2016. Dillon Haupt earned the honor after the first weekend of the season and Mike Fish was named the league’s top player for the week ending June 5.

The CornBelters host the Gateway Grizzlies Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 6:35 each night. Tuesday is Busey Bank Reading Program Night with half-price $6 box seats for kids 12 and under, plus kids can run the bases afer the game. Tuesday is also McLean County Orthopedic Night with giveaways and specials, and Great Clips will provide haircuts with proceeds going to charity.
