Lexington LeRoy Road to close

By WJBC Staff

LeROY – Lexington LeRoy Road, which is also CH 21 or 2600 East Road, between Holder Ellsworth Road, which is also CH 28 or 1200 North Road, and Dawson Lake Road, which is also CH 28 or 875 North Road, will be closed to through traffic on July 6, weather permitting, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for road maintenance.

The closure is due to reseal work. The seal cost material being used is slag, which is abrasive and fragile until it is fully set. This requires extra rolling and sweeping. The McLean County Highway Department urges drivers not to drive on this material until the final sweeping.

Anyone with questions is asked to call the Highway Department at (309) 663-9445.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
