Changes to high speed rail closures

NORMAL – Town officials have announced the planned close of Linden Street is being delayed to accommodate the Sugar Creek Arts Festival in Uptown Normal.

Work on Fell Avenue has been moved ahead of its earlier schedule and is set to begin on Friday.

Below is a revised schedule:

Completed Fort Jesse Road
Completed University Street
Completed Fort Jesse Road
Completed Beech Street
June 26 – July 8 College Avenue/Mulberry Street
July 8 – 13 Fell Avenue
July 14 – 17 Broadway Avenue
July 18 – 26 Linden Street (rescheduled due to Sugar Creek Arts Festival)
Aug. 1 – Sept. 3 Broadway Avenue/Linden Street/Fort Jesse Road
Sept.3 – 17 Linden Street
Sept.19 – Oct. 15 College Avenue/Mulberry Street
Oct. 17 – Nov. 19 Beech Street/Fell Avenue
*Above schedule subject to change.

The closures are required to complete the work on the railroad tracks and to replace the roadway crossings. Two separate closures can be expected at each street crossing to complete the work. A detour route will be marked for each closure.
