This Friday, Mr. Woodruff goes to Washington.

Illinois State University Police Chief Aaron Woodruffwas among the officers selected to go to the White House to attend a meeting on President Obama’s Task Force on Twenty-first Century Policing.

Woodruff explained the White House is reaching out to the leaders of local authorities.

“It is a briefing on his 21st Century Policing Task Force and the report that came out with that,” said Woodruff. “Basically, they have reached out to police leadership across the country before this recent unrest.”

The task force report focuses on building trust in the community, as well as community policing and crime reduction.
