“Republicans will be unified in the fall,” Erickson said. “I know sometimes you read in the press there’s some discontent among some of the delegates, but I’m not really seeing this.”
Erickson, who is attending the convention in Cleveland, told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin, a speech from Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday showed how the party’s nominee can produce jobs for the common man.
“Donald Trump understands the common man and Donald Trump does try to produce jobs for the common man and does understand how to create jobs,” Erickson said.
GOP delegate Pat Brady said while the party is unifying to support the ticket, it’s far from organized.
“(Trump) has a bunch of people around him that has never done this before,” Brady said. “Everyone wants change, so do I, but you have to have competence. My fear for the Republicans in this campaign is so disorganized.”
Brady said the way the Trump campaign handled the fallout from the plagiarism flap shows the campaign needs to listen to professional managers. He added Trump will need to do more to lay out his platform when he speaks on Thursday night.
