Bloomington makes progress on road work, weeds still an issue

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington city manager David Hales said street crews have taken advantage of some good summer weather to get road work done.

“We about two-thirds complete of our summer program for street resurfacing so it’s turning out to be a great summer,” Hales said. “It’s turning out to be a great summer. Construction season is moving ahead.”

Hales told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin public works crews have street resurfacing a priority his summer with the $5 million the city council approved for the projects. As for the high weeds you see along those intersections, Hales said crews spray weeds when they can.

In May, the city has posted a list of more than 20 major roads and residential streets that were scheduled to be resurfaced or repaired this summer .
