Labor Day trash, recycling schedule in Bloomington-Normal

The trash/recycling schedule in Bloomington-Normal is as follows for Labor Day:

In Bloomington, household garbage and recycle will be collected as scheduled on Monday. The Public Works Department asks carts be placed by the curb by 6 a.m.

The city’s Public Works offices will be closed for Labor Day. The drop-off facility will be also be closed. It will reopen on Tuesday with a new schedule. It will be open Mondays from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

In Normal, only household waste and recycling will be collected on Labor Day. All other waste collection services – bulk waste, landscape waste and brush – will be collected later in the week as time allows.

The town asks garbage and recycling be placed out no later than 6 a.m. on Labor Day as collection times may vary.
