Bloomington teacher charged with murder in husband’s stabbing death

EUREKA – A Bloomington High School teacher is accused in the stabbing death of her husband.

Woodford County prosecutors have charged Sarah Mellor, 30, with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Mark Mellor.

Woodford County State’s Attorney Greg Minger said Sarah Mellor stabbed her husband during an argument while they were camping at a private campsite near Carlock. Mark Mellor was taken to Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center where he died of a stab wound to the chest.

Sarah Mellor is a foreign language teacher at BHS. She is being held on $1 million bond.
