ST. LOUIS – Illinois State’s Kelli Zickert and Paige Jarsombeck have been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, following standout performances last week on the road against Loyola and Drake.
Zickert tallied two goals on the week for the Redbirds. The first came in the 2-1 win at Loyola, which put ISU in first place in the conference. The second came in the 3-2 win at Drake, which secured the Redbirds’ place at the top of the standings. She played all 90 minutes of both matches and finished the week with a total of 10 shots, five of which were on goal.

The Redbirds are back in action this week, hosting nonconference opponent Kansas State at Adelaide Street Field Thursday at 7 p.m.
