CLEVELAND – One Chicago Cubs star is hoping to convert Cardinals fans to the North Siders.
Ben Zobrist is a native of Eureka. There are divided loyalties throughout the state, but Zobrist is hoping some are ditching the Cardinals for the Cubs.
“I hope that there’s been a lot of converts,” Zobrist said. “I know there has been in my own family. Cousins, aunts and uncles, and what not, that grew up their whole life rooting for the Cardinals and now are just rooting harder than ever for the Cubs.”
Zobrist has been tearing it up the first two games of the World Series. He has five hits in the first two games, including two in the Cubs game two win over the Indians in Cleveland on Wednesday night. That victory evened the series at a game apiece, with game three set for Wrigley Field on Friday night.
