EAST PEORIA – Cayden Redd scored the game’s only goal in the 49th minute to give U-High a 1-0 win over Waterloo Gibault on Friday in the Class 1A state semifinals at East Side Centre.
Redd converted a pass from Mason WIttman for the tally.
The Pioneers will play for the Class 1A state title at 5 p.m. Saturday against Westchester St. Joseph, who defeated Cornerstone Christian Academy 4-0 in the first semifinal. Cornerstone and Gibault play for third place at 3 p.m.
