BLOOMINGTON – November is National Entrepreneurship Month and Junior Achievement of Central Illinois is encouraging adult entrepreneurs to speak at high schools in the area.

Junior Achievement of Central Illinois Director Mary Pille said it could change a child’s life.

“We are inviting entrepreneurs to spend just one hour this month in a high school classroom doing our JA launch lesson with a high school teacher so they can come in and kind of share their stories with high school students and perhaps inspire them to become an entrepreneur themselves,” said Pille.

Pille sais students need to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly about starting their own business so they know all sides.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
