BLOOMINGTON – A number of people gathered Wednesday at the McLean County Museum to History to honor the memory of those, who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor 75 years ago.
Dave Toland of Bloomington, a member of the Bloomington American Legion Post 90, was among those present.
“We’re here today to remember the day and encourage people to continue to honor the lives that were given for this day and our freedom,” said Toland.
Brent Wick, the commander of the Bloomington VFW Post 454, isn’t sure the younger generation understands the true meaning of the day.
“As things fade in time people forget and they need to remember on special days like today that we let our guard down one time and we need to stay vigilant. We need to remember that every day.”
