SPRINGFIELD – Former Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger is staying in state government.
Governor Bruce Rauner announced today that he’s appointed Munger as deputy governor, giving her a voice in budget discussions. The governor also said Munger will work with nonprofit leaders to address challenges and improve financial security.
Munger was appointed as comptroller in 2015 but lost her bid for a full term last fall to Susana Mendoza.
The Associated Press reports Munger will be paid $135,000 per year.
