IWU’s Rose, Seibring named All-CCIW

BLOOMINGTON – Illinois Wesleyan junior guard Brady Rose was named to the first team and senior center Trevor Seibring earned second team honors Wednesday as the 2017 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-conference men’s basketball squads.

Rose led the league with a .923 free throw percentage (48-of-52) and tied for fifth in the CCIW with a 16.4 scoring average.

Seibring, who was also a second team selection as a junior, led the conference with a .612 field goal percentage (60-of-98) while averaging 11.8 points and finishing ninth in the CCIW with 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Titans, who finished 9-7 in CCIW play, led the league with a 79.6 scoring average.

Jordan Robinson of North Park, who averaged 21.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, was selected as the league’s “Fred Young Most Outstanding Player” and Carthage center Brad Perry was tabbed as Freshman of the Year. Perry averaged 10.1 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting .600 from the field (69-of-115).

Carthage’s Bosko Djurickovic, North Park’s Tom Slyder and Augustana’s Grey Giovanine each shared the CCIW “Coach of the Year” honors after each led their respective teams to a share of the regular season conference title. This is Djurickovic’s third time receiving the coach of the year award and first since 2010, while Giovanine won for the seventh time and third in a row. Tom Slyder won for the first time since becoming North Park’s head coach in 2012-13.
