ISU earns number one seed in Arch Madness

BLOOMINGTON – Illinois State University men’s basketball team has clinched the number one seed in Arch Madness next weekend.

The brackets for the 2017 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri, were released today, with ISU playing the winner of Game 1 (Evansville vs. Indiana State). ISU will play the winner in Game 3 at noon on Friday.

The Redbirds set program records for most-ever regular-season and conference victories, winning 25 regular games and taking home 17 conference wins.

This also marks the first time in MVC history where the conference has had co-champions with identical 17-1 league marks. ISU and Wichita State represent the first co-champions in the MVC in nine seasons.

The schedule for Arch Madness is as follows:

Game 1: Evansville vs. Indiana State, Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m.

Game 2: Bradley vs. Drake, Thursday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m.

Game 3: ISU vs. Game 1 Winner, Friday, March 3 at 12:00 p.m.

Game 4: Southern Illinois vs. Loyola, Friday, March 3 at 2:30 p.m.

Game 5: Wichita State vs. Game 2 Winner, Friday, March 3 at 6:00 p.m.

Game 6: UNI vs. Missouri State, Friday, March 3 at 8:30 p.m.

Game 7: Game 3 Winner vs. Game 4 Winner, Saturday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m.

Game 8: Game 5 Winner vs. Game 6 Winner, Saturday, March 4 at 5:00 p.m.

Final: Game 7 Winner vs Game 8 Winner, Sunday, March 5 at 1:00 p.m.
