Neva Jean “Jeanne” Legner, 91, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, March 03, 2017 at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, AZ.
Her Mass will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Bloomington with Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiating. A private family burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Loretta. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Church, to be used for the choir.
Jeanne was born May 29, 1925 in Sidney, Illinois, the daughter of Alonzo and Fannie Rife Postle. She married Francis M. Legner on May 21, 1949 in Bloomington. He died on June 16, 1985.
She is survived by her sons, Lonnie Legner of St. Louis, Missouri and Ray (Ainsley) Legner of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren, Christy Legner of Pinehurst, North Carolina, John (Emily) Legner of Phoenix, Arizona, Matt Legner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Jackie Legner of St. Louis, Missouri; a grandson, Tyson Legner of Phoenix, Arizona ; and sister Susan Cufaude of Normal.
Jeanne was primarily a homemaker, but also worked in Bloomington as a trained nurse. She also served as a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital and was member of Holy Trinity Choir for nearly 50 years.
Jeanne was a giver and touched many lives. She made friends easily and had a smile for everyone she met. She will be missed by all.
