NORMAL – Bloomington-Normal will soon have another restaurant option for breakfast, and it will be located at the site of the former Wild Berries restaurant.

The Original Pancake House will take up half the building which will soon be under construction at 115 S. Veterans Parkway in Normal.

Co-owner Brian Landstrom tells WJBC he expects the restaurant to open its doors in November.

Most, if not the entire menu, will be breakfast food, although Landstrom said the Pancake House might serve some lunch items. He said daily business hours will likely be from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The restaurant will seat 150 people in addition to an enclosed patio that will seat another 50 people.

Developers have not revealed what will open in the other half of the building.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
