NORMAL – Illinois State football head coach Brock Spack has announced the transfer of former Florida Atlantic wide receiver Antonio Hadden Jr. to ISU.
Hadden, who sat out the 2016 season as a redshirt, will have four years of eligibility remaining with the Redbirds and will be eligible to play immediately per NCAA transfer rules.
“We knew a lot about Antonio and his work ethic from talking with (former ISU assistant) Dan Shula who coached him at FAU,” Spack said. “He brings toughness, size and a big, strong frame to the outside for us, which was something we were looking for. Add in his ball skills and the four years we will have to work with him, and we think he will be a great fit for our offense and program moving forward.”
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound wideout from Fort Pierce, Florida, was a three-star recruit coming out of Fort Pierce Central High School. As a senior, Hadden earned all-state honors and all-star plaudits while helping his team to a 6-2 overall record prior to committing to FAU.
