Ellen M. Vogel, 65 of Normal, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 5:26 a.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ill.

Ellen’s service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church of Bloomington-Normal 4408 E. Raab Road, Normal, ministers of the church will officiate. Following the service burial will be held at the Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Apostolic Christian Church of Bloomington-Normal or Miller Park Zoo.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Ellen was born on May 1, 1952 in Watseka, Ill. is the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Rieck) Vogel.

She is survived by her sister; Rebecca (Paul) McCann of Decatur, nieces and nephews; Michael (Asami) and Christopher Vogel and William and Jennifer McCann and also 2 great nephews; Alex and Sean Vogel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother; Ross Vogel and 1 sister; Donna Vogel.

Ellen is a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Bloomington-Normal. She worked as an RN for Advocate BroMenn retiring after 45 years.

Ellen dearly loved her family and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all of them.
