St. Louis – Hall of Famer Lou Brock is celebrating the latest prognosis from his doctor. The St. Louis Cardinals legend is cancer free.

In April, the Cardinals announced Brock was undergoing treatment for Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer.

He’s also battled bone cancer, and two years ago, doctors amputated his left leg below the knee due to complications from diabetes.

In a statement, Brock thanked his family, friends, and fans for their prayers and support, and he said, “With the power of Almighty God, all things are possible.”

On social media, the Cardinals said they can’t wait to see Brock back at the ballpark.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
