BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced work will begin Wednesday on roadway improvements on Illinois Route 9 from east of Towanda Avenue to east of Illinois Route 165.
The project will include patching, milling and resurfacing. Rose Construction of Bloomington was awarded the contract for the $1.5 million project.
At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the project duration. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of November, weather permitting.
IDOT is also scheduled to begin roadway improvements Wednesday on Main Street in Normal from Raab Road to Osage Street. The project imcludes ADA improvements of sidewalks along U.S. 51 Business.

Rowe Construction is scheduled to complete the $300,000 project by the end of November.
