
Elizabeth “Beth” Farney
PONTIAC – Elizabeth “Beth” Farney, 83, of Pontiac, formerly of Cullom, passed away at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Cullom. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at West Lawn Cemetery in Cullom. Memorial contributions will be made to Livingston County Humane Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Beth was born May 4, 1934 in Kentucky a daughter of Holbert and Opal (Van Houser) Long. She first married Melvin Moore. She then married Leroy Harms. He passed away in 1958. She later married Raymond Farney. He passed away in 1992.
She is survived by her daughters: Brenda (Gerald) Mills of Pontiac and Kathy Gragson of Cornell; five grandchildren: Robert (Melanie) Mills, David Mills, Jeremy Gragson, Jacquelyn Gragson, and Justin Gragson; seven great grandchildren: Jacob, Nathan, Lance, Brione, Clayton, Kaylynn, and Garrett; and one sister: Jane (Wendell) Crow of Virginia Beach, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Lola Bell Satterfield, Lonell Borders, Howard and Bob Long; and one son-in-law: Dale Gragson.
Beth was a homemaker, who always helped her husband on the farm and did whatever was needed always staying busy. She was involved in home extension. Beth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dwight where she taught Sunday school.
She was a loving mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed.
