Uptown road closures planned for Worldwide Day of Play

NORMAL – Uptown Normal and the Children’s Discovery Museum will be hosting Worldwide Day of Play on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Worldwide Day of Play was created by Nickelodeon. The annual event is designed to encourage children and parents to turn off the television and play. This is the eleventh year Bloomington-Normal has participated in the event.

To accommodate this event, the following roads will be closed:

• Beaufort Street from Uptown Circle to Linden Street
• Linden Street’s southbound right turn lane from College Avenue to Beaufort Street

Also, there will be some additional street-level parking restrictions:

• Parkinson Avenue parking lot will be closed
• Parking lot bordered by Constitution Boulevard and College Avenue will be closed
• Parking spaces along Constitution Boulevard from Uptown Circle to College Avenue will be unavailable
