STANFORD – A Stanford resident has won $50,000 in an instant Illinois Lottery game.
The Illinois Lottery reports Tim Tippey bought his scratch-off ticket for the Crosswords game at the Casey’s General Store in Minier. The agency says Tippey initially thought he’d won a $1,000 prize, but when he returned to the store to verify his win, the clerk told him the prize was actually $50,000.
Tippey says he’ll put the winnings toward a new house.
The Minier Casey’s receives a one-percent bonus of $500.
