CHICAGO – Illinois voters won’t make a final decision on their choice for governor for more than a year, but already two top contenders are dumping millions of dollars of their own wealth into their campaign warchests.
In that high stakes fundraising game, Chicago alderman Ameya Pawar is saying fold. After promising early polling numbers, Pawar said he’s ending his bid for the Democratic nomination because he doesn’t have enough money or resources to mount a successful statewide campaign.
