U-High boys 2nd, Pontiac’s Schrock champion in state golf

NORMAL – U-High is the state runner-up in Class 2A boys while several individuals earned medals in the various state high school golf finals on Saturday.

The Pioneers finished tied with Arlington Heights St. Viator in the team totals while U-High’s Dallas Koth was the individual runner-up with a one-under-par score over the 36 holes at the Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University. Tommy Kuhl of Morton won the title with a blistering 13-under par.

Ali Schrock of Pontiac won the individual state championship in Class 1A girls by finishing five-over par at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur. Katie Steinman of Central Catholic tied for fourth place in Class 1A with a 14-over-par score.
