BLOOMINGTON – Rain changed to snow by halftime and Illinois Wesleyan’s fortunes changed from slim to none in the second half as Case Western Reserve used a steady ground attack and stiff defense to shutout Illinois Wesleyan 28-0 in an NCAA Division III first-round playoff game at Tucci Stadium.
Aaron Aguilar, who had just nine carries on the season rushed for 137 yards on 27 carries and scored three touchdowns as the No. 16-Spartans used the elements to their advantage against a Titan offense that was unable to gain traction.
Brandon Bauer completed 8 of 25 passes for 73 yards. Morgan Alexander rushed for 119 yards on 30 carries, becoming the fifth player in IWU history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
The Titans end the season 9-2.
