BLOOMINGTON – Denny’s Doughnuts in Bloomington is preparing special holiday coffee cakes as a fundraiser for the WJBC Brotherhood Tree.
Denny’s Doughnuts owner David Marquardt says the coffee cakes, with flavors like cherry, cream cheese, and cream cheese cinammon pecan, may contain nuts and are not gluten free. He explained he offers free in-town deliveries and his drivers can deliver as far as 80 miles out of the Bloomington-Normal area. Marquardt also said the holiday coffee cakes are only available this time of year.
You can order one for $8 or three for $20. All proceeds go to the WJBC Brotherhood Tree. The Brotherhood Tree donation collection begins today, with gift drop-offs at the WJBC Studios, DoubleTree by Hilton, any Bloomington-Normal or Lexington Commerce Bank location, Denny’s Doughnuts, Great Harvest Bread Company, Gingerbread House, The Children’s Discovery Museum, Heritage Plaza, Wild Country (at the Eastland Mall and in Uptown Normal) Chenoa Pharmacy, and Hy-Vee.
Denny’s Doughnuts was created in 1974 by Marquardt’s father, who was 19 years old at the time.
